Lock -Jaw (Trismus)

Does anyone had Jaw locking or have u felt sometimes your Jaw-lack? Kinda scared me Yesterday, when I woke up and I can't barely open my mouth. I feel pain inside of my mouth and my teeth was sensitive. Also i felt discomfort in the right side of my ear. I remember i saw in the news that one woman had her jaw lack in deform her entirely face. So, I called my husband and ask him if he knows what is the basic to unlock my Jaw, but he doesn't know anything. I called the 24hours Nurse helpline in our Medical Insurance and told her my symptoms, She said it sound like I have Temporomandibular Joint problem or (TMJ, in short). I don't really know about TMJ. She advise me see the Doctor within 6hours. So i called my Primary Doctor, but no luck to get appointment at the same day, so i set up my appointment the next day, luckily they have available next-day morning. Of course, i need to get something to eat for lunch, so i checked my Frigged for food. I cooked beef "sinigang" a night before my symptoms, and i need to finish it. My Gosh, felt like I was tortured while eating my chunky taro(Gabi) and meat. I can only open my mouth maybe 1/2 inch just enough to fit the spoon. I cannot chew hard because it's painful just had to drink water all the time so I can swallow my food without choking myself.. I took a nap after lunch, hoping the pain will go away. I woke-up around 3pm, Still my jaw is lock, So I went to the computer in start Google research for Lock-Jaw in found this website very informative dental-health.com. They have people asking Question about their symptoms and I found very similar on what i have. They have some first aid which i tried last-night, They said I need to take 1-2 tablet of pain reliever or as described and put cold compress for ten minutes in the sore area then 10minutes of hot compress same area. And start massage on affected area all the way to ear. I did this procedure hoping when I woke up in the morning everything back in place. I went to slept still feeling sore but i was very surprise I wake up 4am this morning, The Pain is Gone! I can open my mouth naturally without pain, I can Yawn really good. Wow! I was so thankful and relieved that my Jaw-unlock and no pain at all. So i called the doctor office to cancel my appointment first thing in the morning, I told them that everything was fine. I also called my husband letting him know that, i'm alright and I can move my mouth without problem. I'm just hoping it would never happen again.
